I purchased this for my son,8, who saw another brand of marble run at a friends house. I like this one because it had a base, which meant we could move it from room to room. The other reviews said the instructions were lacking direction - and they were true! My husband spent 2 hours putting it together - and he comes from a family of engineers. We have not taken it apart to try to build other things, but may work up the courage soon! My kids love it, and play with it everyday.

This toy took my husband hours to assemble. It takes up lots of space and it is not something you want to rebuild. Also, my 5 year old broke it with in days because he was trying to play with it. So if you just want to watch and never take it down it might be worth your while, otherwise steer clear.
